Justin Chenette is the Founder & Principal Consultant. He started Amplify Maine Consulting in 2013.
With experiences spanning journalism, marketing, government, and nonprofit leadership, Justin is an experienced strategic communicator who drives impact by defining brand, refining message, and amplifying engagement. He is a storyteller by nature and a marketer by trade.
He currently works as the Senior Director of Public Relations & Advancement for a statewide mental health organization. In that role, Justin develops and implements external communication strategies to advance the nonprofit’s reputation and to broaden the impact of programs through multimedia storytelling, advertising, branding, and messaging across all platforms.
Justin got his start in journalism working for various media outlets including for FOX 23's Good Day Maine and hosting his own statewide public affairs show on WPXT/WPME. He later worked in digital advertising at the Journal Tribune newspaper, media relations for a national advocacy organization, and held various marketing roles. Justin has spent over 10 years as a columnist with the Courier newspaper, where he continues to contribute pieces.
He has worked at every level of government with roles in municipal, county, state, and federal institutions. Justin is a former 4-term lawmaker having served as both a Senator and Representative for 8 years, made history as the first high school student appointed to the State Board of Education, and interned at both a city hall and a congressional office. He currently serves as a County Commissioner and a state appointee on Maine’s Right to Know Advisory Committee.
He has a B.S. in Broadcast News from Northern Vermont University-Lyndon, a post-B.S. in Public Administration from the University of Maine at Augusta, and an Executive Certificate in Public Leadership from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.
